Where do we pay rent?

When is rent due?

Rent is due on the first of the month and is considered late after the fifth of the month. Fees are assessed at $10.00 for the first $500.00 of rent, plus 5% of any amount over $500.00.

What is a NSF check fee?

If your payment is returned to ASAP Management for any reason, you will incur a $35.00 fee. This fee must be paid immediately and is non-negotiable.

How long is an ASAP Management lease term?

Standard leases are twelve months long; no short term leases. Longer leases are negotiable.

How do I apply for an apartment?

All applicants who are 18 years and above must fill out an application. There are three things that ASAP Management requires when qualifying for an apartment: credit in good standing, employment verification, and tenant history. All will be processed within 1-2 business days.

What is my move-in procedure?

Contact the appropriate utilities for your account transfer. Please move all belongings through the rear entry to the building.

  • Should I have renter’s insurance?

    ASAP Management strongly recommends to acquire renter’s insurance to cover any personal property stored within your apartment.

    Can I make any alterations to my apartment?

    You are allowed to make cosmetic alterations such as painting, hanging pictures, etc. with written consent from ASAP Management. Upon your lease expiration and your vacating of the apartment, you must return everything to its original condition. Please note that you are not permitted to alter any lock, install a new lock, and/or any other attachments to your door without written consent from ASAP Management.

    Can I paint my apartment?

    Yes, as long as you paint it back to white upon your lease expiration.

    What is the pet policy?

    Cats are permitted in all properties. Dogs are allowed in some of our properties with a weight limit that is up to 35 lbs. No aggressive breeds’ will be allowed in any property such as pitbulls, rotweilers, german shepards, etc, nor can they be mixed with any such breeds. No additional security deposit is required. There is a maximum limit of two animals per apartment in various buildings or 35 lbs total, depending which is reached first. All pets must be taken in and out of the premises through the rear entry way. Pets are to be leashed at all times if out of the unit. Pet waste is to be disposed of. No pets are allowed to occupy any of the common areas such as lobbies, courtyards, back gangways or in the back of the building.

    Can I have a satellite dish or Direct TV installed in my apartment?

    No.

    What do I do if I have a maintenance request?

    Please call our office at 773-506-7060. Please provide your address including unit number, phone number and maintenance request. If you call after business hours please leave a message for routine maintenance and if you have an emergency use the prompts to direct your call to our emergency answering service. If you have any pets please make arrangements for the pet to be caged or out of the unit during the time of service.

    What do I do in an emergency?

    Dial 911 and report emergency and notify ASAP Management Services, Inc. The following situations are considered emergencies; smoke/fire, flooding, gas odor, and anything that may threaten the safety of the residents.

    What happens if I’m locked out?

    Should tenants lock themselves out of their apartment, the property manager may be called to gain entry when time permits. A $50.00 fee will be charged at the time of service. Tenants should not rely on the property manager to gain entry. A locksmith should be called if the Manager is not available.

    Can I sublet my apartment?

    Yes, you may market your apartment on craigslist, reader newspaper, post a sign on the building or any other advertising avenues that you think would be valuable to your sublet. It is your responsibility to find a renter. ASAP Management will provide applications for the prospective tenant to fill out. Once you have an applicant you must submit their application to ASAP Management for approval.

    What do I need to do to replace/add a roommate to my lease?

    Your new roommate must fill out an application and be approved to reside in your apartment by ASAP Management. Please contact ASAP Management’s office at 773-506-7060. There is a $50.00 application fee per person. If approved, the new roommate must sign on your existing lease.

    What are the move-out procedures?

    Need to move out through the rear access. You have until midnight of the last day of your lease to move everything out. You must clean the bathroom and kitchen, sweep all floors, and paint the apartment back to white if painted different colors to avoid a $200.00 cleaning charge, which will be filed to your ledger. If you do not paint your apartment back to white there is a $400.00 charge to your ledger as well. Do not leave any furniture outside the dumpster, since the garbage company charges extra for any garbage that is not left in the container. Any items left in apartment after your lease expiration will be disposed of. Leave all keys on the kitchen counter. If you do not return your keys there will be a $50.00 claim file to replace any key.
